Some of the guidelines I might suggest when looking for the right company to become involved with when seeking a work at home opportunity is find a product or service you personally would use and recommend.
You will want to establish an online marketing campaign to generate sales, so make certain that there is a demand for the product or service. It would be a bad idea to choose something to make money with that you have to spend your time creating an interest for or educating people on the reason they should buy what you have.
Find a product or service people are already buying and then find a way to promote with your own unique selling proposition. If there is already a high demand in the market then simply finding a way to promote what people are already buying will help you capitalize on an existing market. And that existing market is NOT going to be your 'warm market' either.
Successful sales people and business owners may have learned from experience that going to friends and family with the next best greatest widget and income opportunity is a very bad idea. Formulate a successful ad campaign first, establish a successful sales record and income, then those closest to you will begin to see the value in becoming involved with you and this is when inviting friends and family becomes appropriate.<

There are many reasons for this, none the least would be endorsements from authority figures like Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki, and Warren Buffet whose involvement / ownership of network marketing companies have helped to propell the industry and public awareness.
Some other reasons why more people are attracted to working from home is improvement in the quality of life, no commute, increased tax deductions from business ownership and many more. Professionals, baby boomers, stay at home moms and a weak job market have all increased exposure and added to the reported 180K new members added to the ranks of direct selling industry weekly figures. Maybe it is time to find your business opportunity and take advantage of this growing trend.
