The Difference Between Karate and Kung Fu

For many people, especially those who are not familiar with martial arts, the question often arises on what the difference between karate and kung fu is. Upon watching somebody doing martial arts, the untrained eye will find it hard to tell whether that person is doing karate or kung fu. Even those who are beginning martial arts may sometimes be confused about the different styles until further exposure to them will reveal just how different they really are.

Historically, the people living in the islands of Okinawa just south of Japan got exposed to Chinese kung fu martial arts due to the close proximity to China. Over time, the Okinawans and Japanese developed their own styles of martial arts now known as karate from the original influence of Chinese kung fu. Although both karate and kung fu utilize many similar martial arts techniques, most kung fu styles will usually have more variety of techniques compared to karate systems. It's almost like the Japanese streamlined the number of techniques from Chinese systems to develop karate. The Japanese also modified the way techniques are executed in karate as they became more linear compared to kung fu. This is especially evident in the forms or katas (traditional sequence of set moves) where karate techniques are performed with crisp movements that have distinct stop and go motions.

In kung fu forms, movements involve the use of more circular techniques, particularly with the hands. These circular motions give kung fu forms a more visually graceful look as techniques seem to flow from one to another. There is less stop and go with most kung fu styles. This is why some martial artists, especially in North America, often refer to Chinese kung fu as 'soft' styles while karate and tae kwon do are 'hard' styles. This is not to say that hard styles such as karate or tae kwon do are more powerful martial arts than kung fu and other soft styles. The term 'soft' is a bit misleading because the power from circular kung fu moves is often hidden. Circular moves can generate just as much power as linear ones found in hard styles. Most kung fu forms are also usually more complex and longer in duration than most karate forms. To most martial artists, a kung fu form will look much more exotic while a karate form will look more straight forward in terms of martial arts techniques. Interestingly enough, there are karate styles such as goju which do have quite a lot of circular techniques similar to kung fu. Kempo styles are considered a hybrid of Chinese kung fu and Okinawan karate techniques with both circular as well as linear techniques. There are also many more different styles of kung fu compared to karate.

Martial arts weaponry is found in both kung fu and karate styles but different sets of weapons are utilized in each martial arts system. Much like the empty hand forms, the kata with karate weapons are also more linear compared to those with kung fu weapons which have more circular movements. As expected, there is a lot more variety of different Chinese kung fu weapons than found in the Japanese karate styles.

Traditionally, practitioners of karate wear a white uniform called a gi which features the overlapping kimono-like top. Less traditional schools like those in North America will allow colored uniforms. A colored belt will be the finishing touch to the gi with of course the black belt for those at instructor level ranking. Most of the time and especially inside a dojo studio, karate stylists will not wear any shoes while training. Most kung fu stylists will wear a very different looking uniform. Kung fu uniforms usually consist of tops with Chinese 'frog-style' buttons rather than overlapping fronts like the karate gi top. The uniforms can be black or a variety of colors with often lighter fabrics such as satin and shoes are commonly worn. The modern acrobatic Chinese martial arts of wushu can feature satin uniforms with many different bright colors. Many kung fu schools simply utilize t-shirts and baggy pants as uniforms. Satin colored sashes are often worn to signify rank of students but this is actually more of a North American style as most kung fu schools in Asia do not show rankings in uniforms.

Overall, there's more variety of techniques, styles, weapons and uniforms found in the Chinese kung fu systems compared to karate. However, that is not to say that one system or style of martial art is superior to another. They are just different and to the observer, it could come down to personal preference. Some prefer kung fu and some prefer karate. Some ambitious martial artists who desire a full well rounded education practice both kung fu and karate.

Purchase Structured Settlements !

Companies that purchase structured settlements will buy out your future payments in exchange for advancing you money now, minus their fee. These companies can provide needed cash in a lump sum, far more than your monthly allotment, if that is what you choose to do, instead of staying on the monthly or yearly plan that your structured settlement sets forth.

If you have been involved in a lawsuit for personal injury, product defects, medical malpractice, or wrongful death of a family member, you may have mediated a settlement offer. Many times, since settlements in personal injury cases can be so large, the payouts are structured, or set up to be paid out in increments over time. This can be over several months, or years, and in some cases for a lifetime of payments. This amounts to a guaranteed income for the person who has settled their lawsuit for monetary compensation.

When a large sum is spread out over many months, or years, there can be some tax advantages, and it does assure the recipient of future income. By taking a large lump sum all at once, the person who receives it gets a large amount of money all at one time, with nothing set aside for future expenses. People who are hurt and have ongoing medical expenses will need a lot of money for their future care, and a structured settlement is good for that purpose.

Sometimes, however, the recipient has a good reason for wanting a large amount of cash immediately, instead of the smaller amounts over time. They might want to go to college, or buy a house, or have another good reason for needing some, or all, of their settlement money up front. This is a good time to consult the companies who purchase structured settlements.

There is a fee charged, from around 10 to 30 percent of the money advanced, and the transaction is similar to getting a payday advance, except for a lot more money, and the repayments go directly to the company that bought out your settlement. It is possible to have them purchase just a part of your settlement, so you get a lump sum now, and whatever remains would continue as before, but in a lesser amount. You would still get some future income, just not as much.

When deciding to sell a settlement, it may be necessary to obtain court approval. That is one way that the legal system acts on your behalf, to be sure you are doing this for a good reason, because the structured payment system was decided upon for a good reason also. Take time to examine several companies who purchase structured settlements before you take action. Oftentimes, smaller competitors offer better rates and terms than the big names like Peachtree and JG Wentworth.

Affiliate Marketing Mixed With Google Adsense Equals Profits !

Are you a webmaster who needs funds to keep your website running?  Or is your website the only way for you to earn income?  Whichever you are, for as long as you are a webmaster or a web publisher and you need cash, affiliate marketing may work well for you.  With affiliate marketing, you may get a lot of cash pouring into your bank account easily.  And if your website is rich in great contents and you want to earn more profit, why not get into the Google Adsense program as well? Why Affiliate Marketing?Well, simply because affiliate marketing is the easiest and probably the best way to earn profits online, unless otherwise you are a businessman and would rather sell your own products online than advertise other businessman's products on your site.

But even online retailers can benefit from affiliate marketing programs, because affiliate marketing actually works for merchants as well as it works for the affiliates.Affiliate marketing, simply said, is a relationship or agreement made between two websites, with one site being the merchant's website and the other being the affiliate's site.  In the relationship, the affiliate agrees to let the merchant advertise his products on the affiliate's site.  The merchant, on the other hand, would agree to pay the affiliate in whatever method they have agreed into.

This would generally mean easy income for the affiliate, as he would do nothing but place the retailer's ad on his site.  This would also be very beneficial for the merchant, as getting affiliates to advertise their products would be a lot more affordable than hiring an advertising firm to promote their products. There are a variety of methods on how the merchant would compensate the affiliate for his services, and for the webmaster, these methods simply translates to the method by which he would earn easy cash.  Among the more common methods of compensation are the pay-per-click method, the pay-per-lead method, and the pay-per-sale method.

The pay-per-click method is the method most preferred by affiliates, for their site's visitor would only have to visit the advertiser's site for them to gain money.  The other two methods, on the other hand, are better preferred by merchants, as they would only have to compensate you if your visitor becomes one of their registrants or if the visitor would actually buy their products. Getting much profit on affiliate marketing programs, however, does not depend so much on the compensation method is it does on the traffic generated by your site.  A website that can attract more visitors would generally have the greater chance of profiting in affiliate marketing programs. What about Google Adsense?Google Adsense is actually some sort of an affiliate marketing program.

In Google Adsense, Google act as the intermediary between the affiliates and the merchants.  The merchant, or the advertiser, would simply sign up with Google and provide the latter with text ads pertaining to their products.  These ads, which is actually a link to the advertiser's website, would then appear on Google searches as well as on the websites owned by the affiliates, or by those webmasters who have signed up with the Google Adsense program. While one can find a lot of similarities between Google Adsense and other affiliate marketing programs, you can also see a lot of differences.

In Google Adsense, all the webmaster has to do is place a code on his website and Google takes care of the rest.  The ads that Google would place on your site would generally be relevant to the content of your site.  This would be advantageous both for you and for the advertiser, as the visitors of your site would more or less be actually interested with the products being advertised. The Google Adsense program compensates the affiliate in a pay-per-click basis.  The advertisers would pay Google a certain amount each time their ad on your site is clicked and Google would then forward this amount to you through checks, although only after Google have deducted their share of the amount.  Google Adsense checks are usually delivered monthly.

Also, the Google Adsense program provides webmasters with a tracking tool that allows you to monitor the earnings you actually get from a certain ad.So, where do all of these lead us to?Where else but to profits, profits and even more profits!  Affiliate marketing programs and the Google Adsense program simply work, whether you are the merchant or the affiliate.  For the merchant's side, a lot of money can be saved if advertising effort is concentrated on affiliate marketing rather than on dealing with advertising firms.  For the webmaster, you can easily gain a lot of profits just by doing what you do best, and that is by creating websites.  And if you combine all your profits from both the Google Adsense program and other affiliate marketing programs, it would surely convert to a large amount of cash.

Other Google Adsense Online Business Alternatives !

Google AdSense is the most widely used content-based advertising program by webmasters and web publishers to help generate extra income. Publishers register for a Google AdSense account, enable Google ads relevant to the content on their websites and make money when a visitor clicks on an ad. However, although Google AdSense is generally considered the current leader in content-based, online advertising, it's important for web publishers to realize there are many alternatives to this program, whether they are used instead of or in addition to AdSense.

Furthermore, many web publishers may find too many problems with Google AdSense. For example, they can be too picky in suddenly terminating people's accounts. When web publishers lose their Google AdSense accounts, they need to know what other options they have. In addition, Google AdSense's terms and conditions are such that some publishers are not even accepted into their program. Finally, some publishers find that Google AdSense does not provide a large enough selection of relevant ads that match their content. It is definitely worthwhile to consider alternatives to this program.

Pay-per-click advertising besides Google AdSense is one type of alternative, including such programs as Adbrite, AllFeeds, BidVertiser, Chitika, Clicksor and Yahoo Publisher Network. Adbrite, a customizable e-commerce site, is considered "The Internet's Ad Marketplace," and enables the publisher to not only control their own ad rates, but also to approve or reject every ad for their website. AllFeeds features the highest and best pay-per-click listings from thousands of advertisers, multiple display formats (text links, banners, buttons, search boxes, etc.), real-time reporting, customization and even an integration with Google AdSense. BidVertiser allows the publisher to display text ads on their site with advertisers bidding against each other, and they display the highest bidders for maximum revenue-earning potential.

Chitika, an impulse product merchandising service and comparative shopping engine, features interactive eMiniMalls. Clicksor boasts higher payouts per click along with a larger range of advertisers, supporting feeds from more than one advertising provider and the chance to earn more by either displaying relevant banners or underlining a section of clickable text on their websites. Yahoo! Publisher Network is a newer model and allows the publisher to not only display relevant ads and earn from each click, but also to integrate other features and programs of Yahoo! on their site, such as Y!Q and Add to My Yahoo! (RSS). Other pay-per-click advertising alternatives to Google AdSense growing in popularity include Affiliate Sensor, BidClix, ClixGalore, Fastclick, Kanoodle, Nixxie, Revenue Pilot, Searchfeed, TargetPoint and Vibrant Media SmartAd.

However, pay-per-click, content-based advertising programs are not the only ways for web publishers to generate online income. Affiliate marketing works great as well, using affiliate programs such as Commission Junction, Clickbank, Amazon and Linkshare. Affiliate marketing involves an affiliate promoting the services or products of a merchant on their site and is rewarded for every visitor, registrant, subscriber or customer that comes through them on a pay-per-click, pay-per-lead or pay-per-sale basis. Other alternatives to Google AdSense include networking opportunities, merchandising, RSS advertising, donations and sponsorships.

There is a plethora of alternatives to Google AdSense for publishers to choose from. A common piece of advice presented to amateur web publishers is to include more than one type of revenue-generating program on their site to unleash greater income-earning potential, for security, protection and for backup in case Google AdSense suddenly decides to close down their account.

How To Make Money Blogging !

More and more people are realising that blogging is one of the best ways to start your own online business. It requires minimal start up costs, you can build an impressive and loyal readership over time and once you know how to monetize your blog it can also bring in a decent income that will keep on coming even on the days when you don't update your blog.

There are several ways to set up a blog online. You could use WordPress, Blogger, or another free site that hosts your blog for you; or alternatively you can set up your own blog under your own domain name.

If you want to make serious money from blogging, you must have complete control over your blog – and that's something the free blogging accounts won't give you. You'll be bound by their terms and conditions and that usually includes not being able to actively promote anything. There are plenty of people who have established a blog only to have it removed without notice some weeks or months later.

It will cost you a few dollars to buy your domain name and set up a web server that will host your blog, but the benefits will far outweigh the cost involved. It can literally be as little as $20 a year we're talking about here – and that buys you total freedom.

Once you're ready to set your blog up you'll need to choose a good theme and layout for it. You might find one that relates to your choice of subject (more on that in a moment) or else there might be one you just like the look of. But there are thousands of templates available for you to use – a simple search on Google will reveal the ones that will be best suited to your topic.

But perhaps the most important question is what you are going to blog about. The whole world is your oyster here – some people blog about their lives in general; some blog about their jobs; some blog about their hobbies; some tell the world about their kids and what it's like to be a parent, and still others blog about the weird world of celebrities. But whatever you choose to blog about it needs to be something you are passionate about. Don't forget, you are going to be writing about this topic several times a week, and if you don't have the enthusiasm for it, that will show in your posts – and no one else will have the enthusiasm to read them.

Okay – so you've got your subject. Now you have to start writing your blog posts. If you take a look at just a few of the blogs already online, you'll notice that the length of the posts varies a lot. Some people only write a paragraph or two each time, but you'll get better results if you go for something a little longer than this. Around 400 to 500 words makes for a good post with a lot of information in it; some people write hugely long posts that are thousands of words long and could be called an e-book by another name.

But you can also take the format of this blog, by posting a short blog entry which leads into a longer article. This has the benefit of highlighting a lot of blog posts on the home page of the site, and people can then click through and read the ones they like the most.

You should remember however that there are no real rules when it comes to blogging. Over time you will naturally find what works for you, and your blog will settle down into a nice pattern that both you and your readers will enjoy. You'll find your character and personality will start to come through in your writing too; don't fight against this as it is one of the hallmarks of blogging. It is, after all, a personal account of an individual's life and experiences, so show people what you're made of! You'll get a more loyal – and bigger – audience like this.
So you've got your blog up and running and you're posting to it on a regular basis. The next step is to get it in front of as many interested eyeballs as possible.

One great way to do this is to submit it to as many of the social bookmarking sites as possible. You can also join social networking sites and build a profile which contains a link to your blog. Other no cost ways to generate traffic include writing free articles for article directories with a link to your blog at the end, and creating signatures at the end of any posts you make to internet forums, and also in all the emails you send out. When you really start thinking about it, you don't actually need to spend anything to generate plenty of traffic.

All we need to do now is monetize the blog itself. You'll want to generate some money from all the visitors you'll start getting, and there are plenty of ways to do this easily. Google Adsense is probably the most well known method – you can join the program for free and display contextual ads that your visitors will be interested in to maximise your click through rate.

There are also a handful of websites which give you the opportunity to get paid for each blog post you make on a specific subject. Pay Per Post and Review Me are two such examples, and they will pay you a certain amount of money to review a product or website for the owner. In a similar vein you can also review and recommend other people's products through affiliate links inserted into your blog posts, and earn money on commissions earned through any purchases people make.

And once you're more established you can offer ad space on your blog too, and charge a fee for both classified and display ads if you wish. What could be better than setting your own price?
But there is one final step you can take with your blog if you enjoy a change of scene every now and again. You can sell your blog! Once it is established and has plenty of revenue and traffic, you can usually sell it for ten times its monthly revenue.
And then, you can start all over again with a whole new subject!
So that's it – profitable blogging in a nutshell. If you have any questions feel free to leave your comments in the form below. And once you've done that, get out there and get started building your first blog today.

Tips to Creating a Happy Family !

Is your family a happy family? When you come home from a long day at the office, do you look forward to the peace and joy that will greet you when you walk through your front door? If not, here are 3 secrets that will help you turn your family into the happy family you want it to be.

1. Determine Child Discipline Ahead of Time

Many, many arguments between a husband and wife come because of differences in opinion about how to disciple the children. So you two need to find some time alone and away from the children and agree on how to discipline. Children can sense weakness, and they can sense disagreement. If they know that you and your spouse don't agree on discipline, they will more than likely play one parent against another. This battle could lead to the ultimate destruction of your marriage.

2. Talk Often

It seems that one of the hardest things to get couples to do is talk about their relationship. I know talking about your relationship requires openness, honesty, and intimacy, but relationship talk is an absolute must. Set some time aside every week or two to just talk about your relationship. Don't start off talking about the bad aspects – talk about the good aspects first. If you have not talked about your relationship in a while, spend the first couple of weeks talking about the good before you ever mention the bad.

3. Put Your Children Second

In every marriage relationship, the children should come in second to the spouse. If you only focus on making your children happy, then you are neglecting the relationship with your marriage partner. I have seen so many couples stay together "because of the children" and then separate when the children left the home. Why did this happen? Because somewhere along the way, one or both of the spouses placed more importance on making the children happy than making each other happy. You didn't get married for your children – you got married because you loved your spouse. Don't let your children get in the way of your love.

How To Choose the Best Inkjet Printer for Your Business !

Selecting the best printer for your business can be quite a confounding task especially since there are so many different types and brands of printers to choose from and each one fits different needs. They also come in several models and sizes. The many specifications and features of each printer will make it even more difficult to choose the best one for you and it can drive you crazy. Here are the things that you should consider when buying an inkjet printer for your business.

Printing needs. First and foremost, you have to determine your business' printing needs. There are generally three types of printers: inkjet, laser, and dot matrix. The dot matrix is the oldest type that is still available today. Although it is already obsolete, companies still find it functional because it is the only printer that can print with carbon copy paper. Laser printers give incredible text output because it produces high black and color quality and it is extremely fast. Thus, this type is quite expensive.

Inkjet printers are the business and office favorite. Other than being more affordable than laser printers, this type produces high quality output. It is great for long-lasting pictures.

Consider running and future costs. It is practical to ask the sales representative the running costs of the printer on the first year. It is wise not purchase the printer without finding out the running costs of that printer. Other future costs include the costs of ink cartridges and repairs and maintenance. Find out the price of the printer's ink cartridge. Printer companies nowadays keep the prices of their printers really low but make up for their profits by making the ink cartridges of that printer expensive. Consider getting printers that accept generic ink cartridges instead of printers that force you to buy branded ones that are costly.

Check out the features and functions. If your business would require you to print pictures, consider getting a photo printer because this produces high quality prints. But if you only need the usual colors, the ordinary inkjet printer will be enough. Remember, the quality of print or the resolution that inkjet printers produce depends on its dpi (dots per inch). The higher the dpi, the better the quality of the output will be. There are also printers that can cater to other types of special media other than the regular paper such as envelopes, CDs, banners, etc. If your business requires it, check if the printer can handle it.

Also, if your business would involve printing a high volume of output at a daily basis, you would have to consider the printer's speed and the printer drawer's depth that holds the paper supply. You should also consider a printer that can deal with input from several computers if this will be included in a network.

Buying the best inkjet printer for your business will be easy when you consider the following steps above. This way you pick the inkjet printer that balances quality and performance and can fulfill your business' printing needs without putting a dent on your bank account.

The Best Ways To Promote New Products !

The biggest challenge faced by any business after developing a new product would be exactly how to introduce it to the public, getting them to try it out, and eventually doing good business with them. Having a great product is only the beginning, something that would not make too much of a difference if it is not recognized by the general public. Although the thought of promoting new products may seem to be a bit complicated, with a little patience and effort, along with the proper know-how, you can successfully get your business on the roll. Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

Start off by coming up with a promotional event where you can introduce your products and offer guests some free samples. If your product is good enough, you can be sure that you will be able to get people interested in what you are offering and have them coming back for more. Another advantage of doing this is having people talk about your product to friends. Word of mouth is a powerful marketing tool that could really be a great advantage to your business. Inviting media people during this event can also help a great deal in getting the public to know about you and what you are offering.

Flyers, pamphlets, and other printed promotional materials are a great way of getting your product known. These materials contain important information on what you are offering so people have a general idea of what it is they are about to buy. You could also start having your own business cards made, probably with the name of the product you are selling so you are easily associated with it and are accessible to anyone who is interested. Try to get all these promotional items to as many people as you can reach.

Satisfied customers can offer good reviews on your product. By asking them for testimonials, you are opening doors for other potential customers to give your product a try as well. Gather as much as you can and add these reviews to your promotional materials as proof that you are selling a quality product.

Go online to promote your product. Create a website for potential customers to visit and get free information on what you are selling. If you are not well-versed in making your own website, hire the services of an expert to do it for you. Nowadays, people surf through the net for just about anything. Your product stands a very good chance of being recognized through this medium. You may also find websites where you can post your product ads. Determine an appropriate site where you think your targeted market will be able to access easily. Make sure that your ads are eye-catching as well. They should be able to arouse the curiosity of people, enough to read through them and provide them with the best information regarding your product.

Take advantage of all the marketing techniques you can to get your product out on the market effectively. With so many existing options available to you, being successful can never be too far away. There are so many other methods you can explore apart from those listed above, so if you feel you have a great product in your hands, spread the word.

Buy a Condo in 5 Simple Steps !

How to turn that owning-a-pad dream into a owning-a-pad reality

By Audrey Fine
Buying a home is, of course, one of the most significant decisions you'll ever make — there aren't take-backs once the contracts are signed. So like it or not, you have to do a ton of research and preparation to figure out what you truly want.

And if you think you're done with renting but have no interest in mowing the lawn or fixing the roof, a condo may be the way to go. Ideally, a condo that also has a pool, a gym, and a favorable male-to-female ratio. Here's an idea of what you'd need to do to make it happen.

Step One: Find a real-estate agent
You want an estate agent who knows the market and has experience representing condo owners. Just because a guy's face is on a bus stop does not mean he's the best choice. Depending on your state's laws and/or your level of comfort analyzing contracts and financial statements, you may also need (or want) an attorney to counsel you along the way.

Don't choose a real estate agent because she's hot or he's on your softball team. You'll get caught up in trying to impress her/him, be self-conscious about your budget, and wind up wasting time looking at units you can't afford or aren't interested in.

Step Two: Find a lender
Because of the housing market collapse and the subprime mortgage crisis, buying a condominium in today's world is kind of like going to South Beach with your mom: There are lots of very attractive, very accessible options out there, but your game is going to be compromised.

Before hitting the streets with your agent, you need to know exactly what you can afford. There's no point wasting your time viewing luxury units (and picturing yourself living in them) only to find out later that your budget is less-than-"Cribs." You want to love your new place, not complain about how much better it could be.

Talking to one or more lenders will provide you with the opportunity to:

1) Ballpark the maximum mortgage you will qualify for; note that the prequalifying for a mortgage does not guarantee that a lender will ultimately grant you the loan

2) Discuss different mortgage options and their potential impact on your condo search. For example, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have adopted more stringent requirements for condominium mortgages and mortgage rates, which might impact your ability to buy in certain developments.

Step Three: Assess the field
Even if you think you know where you want to buy, check out units in a few different developments. Walk around each property. Does the place look like it's maintained well? Does it have all the amenities you want? How's the soundproofing in the unit? (Pro tip: to minimize condo-to-condo sound issues, try the bottom or top floors of a development.) Water pressure? Storage?

Ask your agent for a market analysis (sometimes called comps) of the places you've visited. How do the prices match up? Compare the different home-owners' association (HOA) dues. Are the elements that are being ascribed value things that you actually care about? Remember, your HOA dues will be in addition to your monthly mortgage payment.

Step Four: Learn the rules
You've chosen a development and a unit. Now what?

Request and review the HOA bylaws (and all amendments) and the minutes of the last few meetings of the HOA. This due diligence is crucial. The bylaws will govern what you can and can't do with your condo — from whether you can have a pet, to whether you can wash your car in your driveway, to whether you can rent out your condo to someone else.

Read the minutes to get a feel for whether there are any recent issues or debates. Check to see if there's any pending litigation to which the HOA is a party. (Meaning, is your condo association getting sued?)

Talk to people who live in the development and ask about management: Are they responsive? How quickly/well-done are repairs? Take note of how willing people are to discuss management. If they avoid your questions that could be a sign that there is dirt they aren't sharing.

Step Five: Run the financials
Losses incurred by a development's HOA are ultimately borne by the homeowners as increased costs or assessments, possibly triggering a domino effect of foreclosures, losses, and even higher costs. You (and your lender) want to see evidence that you are buying into a stable, well-run property.

You definitely want a lawyer to review financial documents relating to the HOA. Again, you're trying to get a fix on the financial health of the development as a way of minimizing your exposure to risk. Some things to look for:

Are all homeowners current with their dues payments? Have dues significantly increased in recent years?

How many assessments (lump sum fees paid by homeowners in addition to dues) have there been in the last 10 years?

What percentage of the units are occupied by renters? (High renter occupancy is not attractive to lenders.)

Do expenses exceed revenues? If they do, the HOA has had (or will have) to make up the difference through assessments, tapping the reserve fund, limiting accessibility to amenities, and/or cutting back on maintenance.

What does the HOA's master insurance policy cover? Does the budget reflect adequate reserves for the insurance deductible? NOTE: If the master policy does not cover the interior of your unit you would be wise (and your lender may require you) to get homeowner's insurance.

How to Meet Women While Working Out !

One of the main reasons you put your time in at the gym is to make sure women don't find you physically repulsive when you're not at the gym. Sure, it's possible to pick up women at the gym, but it can be tough when your face is grotesquely twisted in agony as you do drop sets.

Still, you can work out and meet women … you just have to choose your workouts. Not all of them are for every guy — um, how do you feel about trapezes? — but you'll find at least one here that'll be both enjoyable and productive.

Beach volleyball
Whether you join a pick-up game or an actual league, it's great for meeting people. For one, you're all wearing bathing suits. Plus, it's a team sport, so you have an immediate reason to bond with and chat up your teammates.

Co-ed softball
Okay, it's slightly less sexy than beach volleyball — polyester baseball pants do no one any favors — but it's also more laid back. For instance, any self-respecting softball team goes out for post-game beers … or even better, enjoys during-game beers.

Tennis
One great thing about tennis is that men and women can often play competitively against each other. So show up with a buddy and challenge a pair of women to a doubles — or mixed doubles — game.

Yoga or Pilates
It's easy to look like a total jackass, but the payoff can be great. So do your homework. Buy a DVD and practice the basic moves at home before you join a class; that way, you won't look around cluelessly when asked to get into Child's Pose … though you may not be able to help ogling while in Downward Facing Dog.

Trapeze or Cirque Classes
Sure, there are downsides: One, you'll be flying through the air and may feel absolutely ridiculous. Also, any male instructors are sure to be shirtless and in crazy shape. Still, you'll get major points for being open-minded enough to try it, and the adrenaline rush your fellow classmates will feel will make them want to do be daring after class as well.

Grooming Habits That Turn Off All Women !

Women — and I am one of them — know there are plenty of things about our grooming routines that annoy you: the length of time it takes for us to get ready, our periodic reliance on blow dryers, purses full of products.

But your grooming habits can annoy us just as much.

It's not necessarily the things you do — it's the things you don't do. Sure, women like men to be men, but we don't want you to be cavemen. So look over this list of some of our biggest grooming turn-offs and see if you recognize anything about yourself. Then, for your sake and ours, follow our simple advice on how to deal.

Jacked-up toenails
Think we don't notice how awful your feet look? Well, we get pedicures, paint our toenails, and wear uncomfortable shoes in part to make our feet look hot. So we notice feet. Make Sunday nail-trimming day and don't let the white part grow past the end of your toe. If your nails look yellow, go to a dermatologist or podiatrist. 'Cause that ain't right.

Bacne
Back + acne = "bacne." And it's not attractive. So use a back brush and body wash containing salicylic acid. Also, remove your sweaty workout clothes ASAP after exercising and shower right away; sweat clogs pores and causes zits.

Chewed hangnails
Women love to look at your hands because we imagine them touching us. That fantasy is a lot less satisfying when the skin around your nails is gnawed into hamburger. So stop biting and apply hand lotion around your nails before bed. It'll soak in overnight, and after a couple weeks you'll undo the damage.

Nose hair
You know what nose hair says to us? "I'm old and never look in a mirror." If you don't want to drop the cash on an electronic nose-hair trimmer from Brookstone or Sharper Image, buy a small pair of scissors in the makeup aisle of a drugstore. Make trimming another Sunday ritual. Lift your chin in front of a mirror, look up your nose, and assume women see you from that angle. (We're generally shorter.) Then trim appropriately.

Freshly-popped zits
Yes, it's tempting, but popped zits look gross when they're all red and inflamed, so instead apply a super-strong spot treatment as soon as you feel a zit coming on. Then reapply a couple times a day until it's gone.

Shoulder or back hair
Chest hair is fine. Back hair is not fine. We know it's out of your control, but if we get our lady areas waxed every few weeks, you can handle this. If it's only a few stray hairs, a mirror and a pair of tweezers should do the trick. Sadly waxing is probably your only option if you're really hairy. It's not that bad, and we will show our appreciation.

Unibrow
A unibrow indicates you're too much of a wuss to pluck a few stray hairs. So break out the tweezers, but don't go crazy; you need only make sure the bridge of your nose is clear of hair. Is the pain is too much, princess? Numb the area with Orajel first.

Body odor
A good antiperspirant or deodorant should do the trick for most guys. But you should also scrub areas that get especially sweaty (like your armpits, crotch, and butt). Dead skin cells make odor worse, and scrubbing will get rid of them and downgrade your B.O.

Chapped lips
Carry lip balm around with you and use it periodically throughout the day. Oh, and don't think licking your lips will solve anything. Yeah, it may work in the short term, but your saliva has acid in it that ultimately makes your lips dry. And we do not want to make out with flaky, cracked lips.

How to Use SEO in Your Online Business !

Do you know how to use SEO in your online business? You can use search engine optimization techniques to get your web pages ranked at the top of the search engine results. If you choose the right keyword phrases to focus on, this will drive a lot of traffic to your website and increase your income.

Do you know how to choose the right keywords for your online business? When you are planning a website with SEO in mind, the first step is to pick keyword phrases that will be fairly easy to rank for. If you are selling something on your website, the keywords you choose must also be related to whatever you are selling. Otherwise, the traffic you attract to your website will not be interested in what you are offering and you will not make any sales.

Do you know how to find keywords for your online business that will be easy to rank for? This is where many webmasters get stuck. They know that they need to use SEO to optimize their web pages, but they don't realize that some keywords are nearly impossible to rank for no matter how well you implement SEO strategies on the page.

What are the requirements for choosing keywords for your website? The keywords you target on your website should receive enough traffic each month to be worth targeting. However, they should also be phrases that don't 'have a lot of competition in the major search engines. It is also a good idea to choose keyword phrases that have an average advertising cost per click of at least $1-2.

Once you have chosen the right keywords and used SEO to optimize your pages, do you know how to build authority to your website? To do this, you need to have many websites linking to your site using the keyword phrases you have chosen to target. You can set up most of these links yourself by posting articles on websites such as Hubpages, Squidoo and EzineArticles that link back to your website. Once you have built enough high-quality backlinks, your website will start appearing on the first page of the search engine results and your online business will take off.

The Importance Of An Online Business Presence !

You may wonder if building an online business presence for your brand or your name is actually worth the time and trouble. Perhaps you found success with a regular bricks-and-mortar operation and are just now beginning to be convinced of the benefits of moving online.

Maybe you are satisfied with the current number of customers buying your products or services and feel no need to grow (is there really any business owner who currently feels this way?).

An online business presence is vital for success in today's market, no matter what type of industry you are in, or what type of business you own. There is no substitute for the information you can provide with a website. Let's take a more in-depth look at the importance of building an online business presence.

Authority

If someone is trying to find your business by doing an internet search, imagine what they would think if all they came across is a simple directory listing while all your competitors offer a professional website. Where will they find the most information? Which one would they choose if they are seeking the business with the most industry authority?

If a Google search of your company's name returns less than one page of results, you are seriously lacking authority. The most successful businesses are referenced throughout the internet – at other sites, on blogs, in articles, in social media posts, etc. When professionals and search engines rate your business, it enjoys greater authority.

Building Trust Through Your Online Business Presence

Here's another scenario. Assume that a consumer is making a decision between two companies with which to do business. Company #1 has a phone number listed online and perhaps a generic email address. Company #2 has a full website with an About Us page, a Contact Us page, a Sales letter with customer testimonials, FAQ list, interactive help feature, and pages with pictures of their products along with detailed descriptions, shipping options, satisfaction guarantee, and pricing. Which would most people choose?

Obviously the second site not only contains all the information they are seeking, it builds trust through the presence of testimonials, a written guarantee, and the ability to contact the company via various methods.

Make It Easy

In the above example, the second site also makes it easier on the customer. They've already answered possible questions, and outlined what the consumer can expect when placing an order. It's simply easier for them to do business with Company #2 – they don't have to place a call, they don't need to visit the store in person, they don't have to wonder if the company offers the products or services they are seeking. Who would go out of their way to do business with a company that makes the information-seeking and buying processes difficult?

Convenience also means that you take the time to personally interact with your visitors and provide prompt, high quality online customer support. If they send an email message, make sure your respond quickly and address any concerns. Thank them after the sale and follow up on their satisfaction. It is also important that a potential client know there is a real person behind that online presence.

There is not a single business that cannot benefit from building a widespread online business presence. Work on increasing your company's authority and the customer's trust while making it easy for them to do business with you and profits will assuredly soar.

Have a most outstanding day.

Building A Successful Online Business !

Building a successful online business takes time and experience. Anyone who tells you any different is probably being economical with the truth.
Let me share an experience with you.

In 2002 I joined a very well known billion dollar nutrition network marketing company and, along with my business partner, our business flew out of the starting blocks. We were new to online marketing, but we did have two years of network marketing experience behind us.

OK, so we hadn't been hot network marketers in our two previous companies, but we had learned enough about the 'how to' of doing network marketing and knew all about lead generation, going through the numbers, cold calling, rejection, personal development and working on yourself more than your business etc.

The new skills that we needed to learn related to the online marketing side of things, but fortunately for us we had a sponsor who knew how to market online, so we quickly had this covered and spent the next few years honing our skills.

As I said, our business flew and for the first time in years the company we represented suddenly had some new 'stars' on the block. Everyone wanted to know what we were doing. The answer was of course, nothing special, it's just that we weren't the newbies everyone assumed we were.
I've since moved on from this business and business model. I am no longer involved in MLM, but much of what I learned is still very relevant to what I do today.

The thing is, the majority of newbies have so many skills they need to learn before they can even get going. And this is where a lot of sponsors don't do themselves any favours. They've often 'sold' the dream that you can be earning thousands within weeks just because they did it themselves. They'll have a great income testimonial, which may be 100% true, but were they complete newbies? Probably not. Did they bring their downline with them? Maybe.

The truth is if you are totally new to networking or internet marketing or anything really, you are not going to be successful until you have learned 'how to'. You have to learn the skills first! Fail to learn the nuts and bolts of building your business and it just won't happen.
I remember learning that success is 15% 'how to', while the other 85% is down to what's happening between your ears. In other words, your attitude and personal development is largely responsible for your success.

While to a huge extent this is true – have the 'wrong' or 'bad' attitude and your business won't go far, I have known of people who are hot with the personal development, but just couldn't get their businesses going because they didn't know the basics of 'how to'.

It's very fashionable for sponsors to say to the people they have sponsored into a business, if your business isn't working you've only to look in the mirror for the cause of its failure. True, in some cases, but for the majority all they want is to be shown what to do and they'll do it, but unfortunately the sponsor doesn't even know what to do and all they are doing is regurgitating the stock standard response they've heard from their own sponsor (well at least something is duplicating even if it isn't success!) Practical help and advice can be lacking. If it's a successful online business you want then you have to become a student of online marketing first.

Your personal development will see you through the frustration of learning how to market!
It is entirely possible for you to do this all by yourself. There are many courses available that will teach you various aspects of internet marketing. You may find yourself investing a lot of money to learn. Furthermore, are the authors of these courses available to give you one-on-one tuition if there's a part of it you don't understand? Maybe, for a huge fee, but in the majority of cases you'll be left to work it out for yourself.

You could also find a 'guru' who will teach you. Again, this can be a costly investment for one-on-one mentoring.
Alternatively, you could find an opportunity where you get the mentoring as part of the package. So if you do want to build a successful online business having a coach who can teach you because they have a successful online business themselves makes sense.

Imagining A World Without Google !

Google. It is unquestionably one of the most well-known companies in the world. It has empowered everyday people with information and given online businesses reasons to exist. Most importantly, it has proven that free can be profitable. But all this has to make you wonder — what would have become of the world if Google didn't exist?

There are so many potential questions that could be asked. Could Microsoft have actually ended up in a worse position than it is today? Would Apple have gone bankrupt? Perhaps Yahoo! could have ended up as the most powerful company in the world? Would the Internet be anything like it is today?

Yahoo! Without Google

You can't go through this scenario without considering Yahoo, previously one of Google's biggest competitors, which is now hardly a blip on the radar anymore.

Yahoo had it all: the money, the user-base, the functionality. And all it really needed was a vision and the leadership to act upon it to reach success.

If Google had never existed, it is entirely possible that Jerry Yang and his bunch of Yahoos could have gotten their acts together to expand and dominate the Web. It is quite possible that it would be Yahoo — not Microsoft or Google — that would be the most influential powerhouse on the Internet.

Yet it's almost impossible to imagine what direction Jerry Yang would have taken the company. These past few years haven't produced images of prosperity, that is for sure.

It also doesn't address the issue that, even with fierce competition in their way, Yahoo never made any drastic moves to better itself. Even to this very day, Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz can't even explain what her company does. This makes me believe that, even if Google didn't exist, another company would have come along and challenged Yahoo, and they might have been successful in their endeavors.

Perhaps Yahoo's destiny was already set in stone.

Microsoft Without Google

If Google is the light at the end of the tunnel, Microsoft is the dark spaces in between — it's all around yet it can't be seen. Indeed, Microsoft has seen better days.

Yet without Google in the way, maybe Microsoft could have had its way. The resurgence of open source software might not have come to be. Adoption of Windows-based operating systems would still be stronger than ever. Desktop software still could have been as crucial as it was only a decade ago. Furthermore, Microsoft would have surely have innovated in online advertising and in the cloud space, all while reaping in billions.

Microsoft and Yahoo would have battled it out for online supremacy, with Bing never becoming a factor.

Unfortunately, the entire web would have suffered for this. The advancement in online technologies, services, software-as-a-service, and other developments in the past years might not have come as rapidly as they have with the help of companies like Google — which had the drive to really innovate — while existing companies really sat back and watched the money roll in.

Thankfully, we do have an abundance of Web-based applications, which was clearly an arena Microsoft was never prepared to do battle in. Even Google has had its online suite of applications for years, while Microsoft has only just released their online versions of Word and other productivity apps in the past few months (which will be an interesting development to watch unfold).

But it is obvious that, while Microsoft and Google are competing, Google has been lenient towards Microsoft. Google avoided Microsoft's turf for so long. For years, people have been calling for Google to create an operating system to crush Microsoft Windows, yet only recently has that happened with the development of Chrome OS, the Chrome browser, and Android. And, as previously mentioned, Google could have pushed harder with their online productivity apps.

So ultimately, in this world of cutthroat competition, Microsoft has been quite fortunate that Google hasn't piled on the pressure, as some serious damage could have been done.

But could you imagine if some other form of competition (other than Google) had stepped up to take on Microsoft? What if they weren't as lenient as Google? Maybe another up-and-coming competitor would have had it out for Microsoft. Maybe — just maybe — Microsoft owes its continued dominance in the PC market in part to Google's mercy. What an interesting thought that is.

Apple Without Google

But you can't write a tech-related article these days without mentioning Apple. This all has to make people wonder about what sort of an impact Google has had on Apple's success and what the present might have looked like if Google wasn't around.

Instead of Microsoft having to only keep Apple away from its market share, it has had to deal with Google as well. While Microsoft was sitting on the sidelines in disarray — attempting to get a grip on the Internet's growth — Apple pushed forward and innovated. It eventually became a reality for people to abandon Microsoft's ecosystem for something else entirely. Of course, Apple was there to capitalize.

Regardless, now Apple is a powerhouse that is dominating markets that Microsoft should have been conquering.

But we can't forget that Apple and Google teamed up to create some amazing applications for the iPhone. Without Google Maps, YouTube integration, and the general emphasis of Web-based services, the iPhone might not have been born (it's a disturbing thought to think that we would have been left with BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices).

That said, it is quite ironic that Apple and Google are no longer seeing eye to eye. It could prove costly to both companies in the future.

Empowerment
But if you want to know the most important thing we would have missed if Google didn't exist, you need not look any further than the flourishing communities and businesses we have on the Web today.

Google empowered people and businesses on the Internet, and it did this more so than any other company I can think of. It has given people the platforms to voice their opinions, share their lives, and profit from their ventures. Self employment is also more common than ever. Google has helped to make this possible.

Back To Reality: Crucial Times
Thankfully, we do have Google around to keep things moving forward. The company, for the most part, takes consumer interests to heart.

But now comes a crucial time when Google is going to head to head with new issues.

Social networking just so happens to be one of those issues, and it a big one. As other companies (like Facebook and Twitter) establish and build out flourishing social networks ripe with content, information, and attention, Google is left on the bench — seemingly in disarray — and unable to create a product to compete. Buzz was a decent attempt, but releasing an unfinished product to the world that not only felt bare but caused massive privacy issues wasn't the way to go about doing it, and I don't think Buzz will recover from this poor first impression.

It also doesn't help that Google has had a horrible track record when it comes to social media and social networking. It just keeps getting worse.

Another issue centers around Google's advertising empire: the quality isn't there. More people are becoming immune to AdSense advertising. As the sheer quantity of advertisements increase, the quality steadily decreases, and this is causing everyone to lose out on opportunity. It's really not that difficult to imagine another platform coming along and stealing the show as it previously was.

And then there is always the worry of complacency — we need not look any further than Microsoft and Yahoo for the perfect examples. Can Google keep innovating, even though the company's scope is constantly widening? It's a tough call, but we remain hopeful.

So, in the end, appreciate all that Google has given us. We are spoiled with free information, content, and entertainment. None of this might have come to be without Google's vision and leadership.

Affiliate Partner Program !

Affiliate, Individuals or business that, for a commission rate, generates sales, leads or clicks from a website by promoting products or services for a merchant using an affiliate program. Affiliate uses e.g. banner ads or text links to refer website traffic to merchant landing page.

Affiliate Program, A program through which a merchant pays a commission to an affiliate for generating clicks, leads, or sales. Also known as an associate, partner, referral, or revenue sharing program.

Affiliate websites are one of the fastest growing wings of e-commerce. You can literally find thousands of affiliate partnerships to choose from. This is both good and bad news. The good news is that there are great affiliate deals to be found online that haven't yet been over-saturated by partnerships. The bad news is that there are affiliate partners out there that you shouldn't touch with a virtual ten-foot pole.

There are a number of steps you should take before signing up with an affiliate partner. First, you should read the affiliates terms and conditions. Too often, budding marketers skip over an affiliates terms. An affiliate partner may not allow for Google Adwords or other marketing avenues so make sure this is not explicitly laid out in the affiliates terms and conditions. If there are no terms of service, this should be a warning in itself. A reputable affiliate will normally have terms of service.

Payment is obviously a huge one. Make sure the affiliate has reasonable terms. Some affiliates, such as Amazon, only pay out after a set number of sales—you do not make a dime on the first, second, or even tenth sale. Other affiliates will pay out for each sale. The flip side is that an affiliate with a sales minimum may also have a better percentage payout. The best-case scenario is to find an affiliate partner that pays out for every sale and offers a good percentage.

This will be all for naught if the affiliate does not pay out in a timely manner. Try and not learn from experience, in other words, don't get burned. Instead, learn from other people's experience. Go to affiliate marketing forums to see if a particular affiliate has a good or bad reputation. The trouble here is that a new affiliate might not have a marketer base yet, and these affiliates usually offer the most attractive terms in order to bring affiliates in. Use some common sense—if the affiliate's site is well designed and they offer a good and useful product, you could try and test the waters.

On that front, it is sometimes a good idea to find an affiliate partner that is not overly saturated. If you offer a service that can't be found on every other web page, it can lead to a better sales rate. However, once again there's a flip side: if it's a virtually unknown site, it's harder to build up buyer's trust, as compared to well-known affiliate programs like Amazon or the Discover card. A lot of the onus falls on you—if your site is well designed and well managed, buyers will trust your affiliate links.

Affiliate programs are also recognized by terms such as "associate programs" or "publisher programs". This is how affiliate programs work: You build a website or blogsite for your own business, products and services, or with the sole purpose of promoting different types of gadgets or merchandise. You sign up with the affiliate program of a website and strategically place their link or banner on your website. A visitor to your website or blogsite finds that the description of a particular product coincides with exactly what he has been looking for. He goes on to click through to the product manufacturer's website. Any visitor who purchases your affiliate partners product owing to your promotion, earns you a commission.

The potency of a good manager lies in the method he manages things. Managing things does not limit to management decisions, but it has a protracted method to go. It consists of managing any work in a very given circumstances in the best possible and cheapest way.

Apartment Rental Insurance Is Both Necessary And Affordable

There are some basic rules of thumb that every renter should know and live by in order to fully protect their own best interests and property from fire, loss, theft, damage, and disaster. The first thing that you will want to do is sign on to a contract that will cover the replacement costs of each item that you would need to cover in the case of loss. This can only be accomplished by gaining quotes regarding the price and coverage offered by several of your favorite companies. Beginning with the inventory list that you generate of your personal belongings within the rented structure, you can get quotes that make sense and help you to make a sound decision.

Your budget should remain a consideration, but it is important to remember that apartment rental insurance is not a costly investment at all. Under normal circumstances, the monthly or yearly costs are well worthwhile should an unexpected surprise happen along that wipes out your belongings. Affordability takes president with this type of renters insurance policy, and the cost of actually replacing all of your cherished and valuable belongings should be enough to justify the few extra dollars per month that you will pay. Now on to finding a comprehensive apartment rental insurance policy.

Bare in mind that a renters flood insurance policy will almost always be kept separately from the common apartment rental insurance policy. You will want to seek quotes on this type of coverage at the same time as you are seeking standard policy rates. You can easily qualify for multiple policy discounts when you choose to sign both insurance policy types with the same company. You might just as well find a great quote on both at once and save time. Floods are not often considered as a possibility until they happen, and when they do, the damages that they cause are very rarely covered under the standard apartment rental insurance policy.

These are just a few of the reasons for you to strongly consider a small investment in renters insurance to protect yourself. The landlord or property owner who rents to you will most likely only cover the actual structures and mechanicals of the buildings, leaving you completely unprotected in times of trouble and loss. Once you generate the inventory list of the items you wish to protect, you should be able to gain some useful quotes and make a great choice.

Exploring Atlantas Most Popular Sites

As if there werent enough reasons to lay down roots in Atlanta: Consider all of the world-class sites which entertain, amaze and educate million of visitors and residents alike each year:

Piedmont Park

Piedmont Park is the epitome of the ultimate, urban park. One hundred eighty-five acres of green space, dotted with playgrounds and baseball fields, along with a picturesque lake, has provided residents and visitors alike with a respite from the city since 1909. Originally the scene of the Gentlemans Driving Club in the late 19th century, Piedmont Park has a long history in Atlanta.

Frederick L. Olmsted was an influential landscape designer who was first involved in the area in 1895, when it was used as the site of the Cotton States and International Exposition fair. It was then sold to the city of Atlanta in 1904. At that point, the city removed the exposition buildings and, under the watchful eye of the Olmsted Brothers architectural firm, began to evolve the park into what is seen by millions of visitors each year.

The Olmsted Brothers incorporated the then-existing stone stairways and handsome, stone urns to create transitions between the different areas of the park. Much of the landscapes and vistas of that time remain today, offering residents and visitors a truly beautiful area in which to relax, picnic or participate in outdoor activities.

Martin Luther King Jr. Historical Site

A trip to Atlanta is never complete without first visiting the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site. This area, which includes a visitor center and is administered by the National Park Service, includes Kings birth home, his church and his grave. Set along several blocks in downtown Atlanta, the Historical Site pays tribute to one of the nations most prominent leaders of the twentieth century.

Part of the site includes the Ebenezer Baptist Church where King once served as pastor, his childhood home on Auburn Avenue and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change, Inc., which today continues Kings legacy and work.

A memorial park was erected in 1976 to honor King, which includes his marble crypt, an arch-covered walkway, a chapel and a reflecting pool.

Centennial Olympic Park

In 1996, Atlanta served as host for the Centennial Olympic Games. It was at that time that the city took a run-down park and transformed it into a beautiful gathering spot where recreation is enjoyed and where community events are held each year.

The estimated $75 million project was accomplished through private sector donations alone. The State of Georgia oversaw the parks development and assumed ownership after the Olympic Games.

This grand park of 21 acres serves not only as Georgias lasting legacy to the Centennial Olympic Games, but as a showpiece for the revitalization movement in Atlanta.

The Park sponsors community-wide free events, including the Fourth of July Celebration, Wednesday Wind Down concert series and Fourth Saturday Family Fun Days. The park also hosts festivals, fundraisers and private events. An estimated three million people visit this area each year.

Georgia Aquarium

Billed as the worlds largest aquarium, the Georgia Aquarium contains a staggering 8.1 million gallons of marine and fresh water and more than 100,000 animals.

The aquarium was originally built on a 20-acre patch of land in downtown Atlanta in 2005, north of Centennial Olympic Park. The largest donation to the aquarium came from Home Depot founder Bernie Marcus, in the form of $250 million.

The Georgia Aquarium is one of only two aquariums in the US to house a Great Hammerhead Shark and was only one of a handful of aquariums to house five, 11-foot beluga whales.

The aquariums five different galleries include the Georgia Explorer, Tropical Diver, Ocean Voyager, Cold- Water Quest, and River Scout, with each corresponding to a specific environment.

The Georgia Aquarium, in addition to serving as a one-of-a-kind aquarium, is also devoted to conservation and environmental missions.

The Reasons Why Adsense Is Essential For Content Sites

AdSense for content. Display targeted ads on your website and earn from valid clicks or impressions. Google AdSense is a great PPC program for publishers. It is simple to use and provides relevant ads according to the page content. It works by people clicking on the AdSense ads they find interesting. Each time someone clicks an ad on you page you get paid for it. While many get only few cents per click there are many tutorials, books and online course on how to increase AdSense income. To know why Adsense is essential for your content sites is to know first how this works.

The use of AdSense is pretty simple, but to be able to use it effectively you should first understand it fully. The website owner or creator will insert a java script into a certain website and every time that page is opened by someone on the internet the java script will find and pull advertisements from the AdSense programme and display it on the visitors screen. If the visitor clicks on the advertisement the website owner displaying the ad earns a portion of the money that the advertiser owner is paying the search engine per click.

The concept is really simple, if you think about it. The publisher or the webmaster inserts a java script into a certain website. Each time the page is accessed, the java script will pull advertisements from the Adsense program. The ads that are targeted should therefore be related to the content that is contained on the web page serving the ad. If a visitor clicks on an advertisement, the webmaster serving the ad earns a portion of the money that the advertiser is paying the search engine for the click.

The search engine is the one handling all the tracking and payments, providing an easy way for webmasters to display content-sensitive and targeted ads without having the hassle to solicit advertisers, collect funds, monitor the clicks and statistics which could be a time-consuming task in itself. It seems that there is never a shortage of advertisers in the program from which the search engine pulls the Adsense ads. Also webmasters are less concerned by the lack of information search engines are providing and are more focused in making cash from these search engines.

The first reason why Adsense is essential for content sites is because it already has come a long way in understanding the needs of publishers and webmasters. Together with its continuous progression is the appearance of more advanced system that allows full ad customization. Webmasters are given the chance to choose from many different types of text ad formats to better complement their website and fit their webpage layout.

The different formatting enables the site owners the possibility of more click through from visitors who may or may not be aware of what they are clicking on. It can also appeal to the people visiting thus make them take that next step of looking up what it is all about. This way the people behind the Adsense will get their content read and making profit in the process.

The second reason is the ability of the Adsense publishers to track not only how their sites are progressing but also the earnings based on the webmaster-defined channels. The recent improvements in the search engines gives webmasters the capability to monitor how their ads are performing using customizable reports that has the capacity to detail page impressions, clicks and click-through rates. Webmasters and publishers can now track specific ad formats, colors and pages within a website. Trends are also easily spotted.

With the real-time reporting at hand, the effectiveness of the changes made will be assessed quickly. There would be time to sort out the contents that people are making the most clicks on. The ever-changing demands would be met while generating cash for the webmasters and publishers. The more flexible tools are also allowing webmasters to group web pages by URL, domain, ad type or category, which will provide them some accurate insight on which pages, ads and domains are performing best.

The last and final reason is that the advertisers have realized the benefits associated having their ads served on targeted websites. Thus increasing the possibility that a prospective web surfer will have an interest in their product and services. All because of the content and its constant maintenance. As opposed to those who are no using Adsense in their sites, they are given the option of having other people do their content for them, giving them the benefit of having successful and money-generating web sites.

Adsense is all about targeted content, the more targeted your content is, the more target the search engines' ads will be. There are some web masters and publishers who are focused more on their site contents and how best to maintain them rather than the cash that the ads will generate for them. This is the part where the effectiveness is working its best.

When your content changes, so do your ads. Google AdSense technology goes beyond simple keyword or category matching. We work hard to understand your content and deliver ads that are relevant to specific pages, automatically, no matter how many thousands of pages your site may have, or how specialized or broad your content. As your content changes, Google's ads change to match. And since our ads are also targeted by country, global businesses can display local advertising with no additional effort.

There was a time when people were not yet aware of the money to be achieved from advertisements. The cash generated only came into existence when the webmasters and publishers realized how they can make Adsense be that generator. In those days, the content were the most important factors that is taken quite seriously. It still is. With the allure of money, of course.

How to Argue Logically !

A Tutorial by Thilo Savage

In a democratic society, debate is extremely important. Sadly, most people don't know how to make valid arguments and defend them properly. They initiate debates and fumble around with words and vague statements, all backed up by a poorly constructed thesis. Here is a brief tutorial on arguing logically, making good points, and defending your arguments.

Chapter 1 | Terminology

A. Debate - a formal discussion involving one or more people who develop arguments and logically defend their points to prove their position true.

Example:

"Ween gives the best live performance ever."
"No they don't."
"Yeah they do, stupid idiot."

B. Hypothesis - stance on a topic which the debate focuses around.

Example: "America's government blows ass."

C. Thesis - logical comparative clause that supports the hypothesis.

Example: "God exists because it says so in the bible, you moron. You're going to hell."

D. Argument - something you say to piss your opponent off and move the topic away from the hypothesis.

Example: "You're stupid and nobody likes you."

E. Logic - progressive statement that follows valid reasoning.

Example: "Some people who wear purple are stupid. You're wearing purple, therefore you are stupid."

F. Argumint - a piece of candy that freshens your breath before a debate.

Example:

G. Premise - A premise is a word you use when you've already said "thesis" too many times.

Example: "You're only pro-choice because you take pleasure in killing babies."

H. Contention - A statement that builds tension.

Example: "Yeah, I called you stupid. What are you going to do about it?"

Chapter 1 | Initiation

A. Common themes to debate:

1. politics
2. abortion
3. quality of marijuana
4. opponent's sexual preference
5. opponent's mother

B. Common places to debate:

1. bar
2. restaurant
3. debate club
4. internet forum

3. Times to not debate

a. sexual intercourse
b. held at gunpoint
d. when someone bigger disagrees

Chapter 2 | Debating Fundamentals

A. Affirmative argument

- The offensive position against an opponent.

1. argumentum ad hominem - Bring the opponent down. Use physical blemishes, odors, speech impediments, matriarchal figure, and any weakness you can disclose about them.

Example: "You only believe in pro-choice because you get pregnant every weekend, slutbag."

2. Cussing - Derogatory terms are very important and often decide the outcome of the debate.

Example: "Shut the fuck up, shitface."

Note: Make sure to use proper word placement: "Hey homo, I fucked your mother." is a very strong and stable argument. "Hey Mother, I fucked a homo." is not.

3. Evidence - A good debater will be able to back up anything he says with solid evidence.

Example: "You're a prick because I said so."

Note: Avoid citing sources. If you need to steal someone else's work to back up what you say, you're probably not very intelligent and shouldn't be debating in the first place.

4. Statistics - Use proven statistics to back up your arguments logically.

Example: "100% of people who are me don't like you. Therefore nobody likes you."

5. Slang - Use ambiguous terms and subjective rational to confuse your opponent.

Example: "Ya right, dirt squad, that shit's weak sauce."

B. Defending yourself.

When an opponent takes the offensive and attacks your argument, be able to counter his statement efficiently with powerful reasoning.

1. Rebuttal - Restate what you just said louder and more threateningly.

Example:

"Your mom is a bitch."
"No, YOUR mom is a bitch."
"Not as bitchy as your mom."

2. ad apathium - Prove that the opponent's statement meant nothing to you.
Example: "Whatever, dude..." Then roll your eyes.

3. post hoc ergo propter hoc - Basic cause-effect retort.

Example: "You are a stupid idiot, therefore I have no reason to argue with you so go to hell, you dumb piece of uneducated white trash."

Often times your opponent will crystallize you in a position where you have nothing to say. Either he's made you backtrack and contradict yourself or brought to light a perspective that you hadn't thought of. When this happens, there are a few ways to defend your argument properly:

1. Tai-jitsu

2. Tai-kwan-do

- If it's an online debate:

1. DoS Attack
2. w32 Nuke
3. Trojan/Netbus
4. PHP exploit (for forums)

Chapter 3 // Debating Process

A. The cross-examine

When you cross examine, you are conversing back and forth between one or more people to see who is loudest and more insulting to the individual or his/her stereotype.

B. The Argument.

Here is a (hypothetical) structured debate between me and Molly.

Thilo: "Hey Molly, Pink Floyd rules."
Molly: "No he doesn't."
Thilo: "It's a "them," idiot. And you're just saying that because you're ugly."
Molly: "No I'm not."
Thilo: "Yeah you are because you are fat and your face looks like it just gave birth to a walrus."
Molly: "At least I don't LOOK like a walrus."
Thilo: "Shut the fuck up, you're stupid."
Molly: "I know you are."
Bill: "Hey, would you guys shut up? I'm trying to watch the porno."
Thilo: (grabs Bill's glasses, breaks the lenses with his teeth and holds a shard to Bill's throat)
Bill: "What the fuck, dude?"
Thilo: "Who's fat?"
Bill: "Me! Not you! Not you!"
Thilo: "That's right bitch! What about your mom?"
Bill: "She's fat too! Please let go!"

See how elegantly I reasoned with Bill and lead him to contradict his original argument? That's called skill.

C. Make-Up Sex

This is probably the best part about debating with a female. When it's all said and done, she'll feel like shit for the things she said to you. After she begs for forgiveness, mention that there is one way you'll forgive her.

Use these tips and you will be debating like a pro, logically defending yourself, and backing up everything you say with valid and reasonable arguments.
